20 Valentine's Day Snacks for Kids With Hearts, Fruit and Sprinkles

Looking for valentines day snacks for kids that go beyond a bowl of candy? Think little sandwich envelopes, strawberry hearts and pink-sprinkled treats.

These ideas include fruit, savory bites and sweets, so you can choose something that fits your snack plans.

Keep things simple or go all out with a colorful platter. Check allergies before sharing.

For younger children, remove skewers and decorations, quarter grapes lengthwise and skip popcorn and hard or chewy candies.

Cute Valentine's Day Snack Ideas to Try

little sandwich envelopes

We’re starting off strong with these adorable sandwich envelopes. The triangular pieces of white bread look like folded flaps, with a strawberry heart sealing each one.

Try the same arrangement with a filling your kids enjoy. I’d keep that little red heart right in the middle.

strawberry heart skewers

How cute are these strawberry hearts? The small cutter shown at the top gives the fruit that neat outline.

Dark red grapes sit between the strawberries on the skewers.

For a skewer-free version, arrange the prepared fruit hearts in a little bowl instead.

pink-drizzled popcorn hearts

I love these popcorn hearts with their pink drizzle. The bumpy white surface still shows through, so you don’t need to cover every little spot.

Save this decorating idea for an older child’s popcorn treat. A few loose pink stripes give it plenty of Valentine color.

heart-print snack cups

If you’re looking for a cute way to serve snack mix, this one is for you. Popcorn, pretzel sticks and pink, red and white candies fill the heart-print cups.

The tiny sprinkles on the popcorn are such a sweet detail. Choose little patterned cups if you want to follow the same presentation.

strawberry and chocolate-chip bark

This strawberry-topped bark may just be one of my favorites here. I love the bright red slices and tiny chocolate chips scattered across the white base.

You could use this topping combination with your favorite frozen yogurt bark recipe. Keep the strawberry slices spread out so each piece gets a little color.

heart pancake platter

Who says pancakes have to stay at breakfast? These little heart pancakes share a platter with strawberries, blueberries and a generous strip of whipped topping.

The heart-shaped dipping bowls are my favorite part. Try a smaller version on an individual plate for an afternoon snack.

sweetheart pretzels

How adorable are these? Each pretzel has a glossy chocolate-colored center topped with a pink or white heart.

If you want to borrow the look, use a small spoonful of melted chocolate and an edible heart decoration. There’s no need to cover the whole pretzel.

rainbow fruit hearts

I am obsessed with the colors on this fruit tray. Watermelon, orange melon, pineapple and pale green melon make rows of hearts, with strawberries below and blueberries at the top.

You can also skip the sticks and arrange the hearts in the same colorful rows. The rainbow looks lovely either way.

simple cereal hearts

Don’t want to add frosting or lots of decorations? No problem! These cereal treats get their Valentine look from heart shapes alone.

The large and small cutters make a cute mix on the red plate. Try the same shapes with a cereal-treat recipe you already use.

cheese hearts and crackers

This is a simple savory idea to keep in mind. Pale cheese hearts surround two sleeves of round crackers on a red tray.

I love how the hearts overlap around the edges. Unwrap the crackers before serving, then keep that same cheese border.

watermelon and berry platter

If you are looking for a fruit platter with lots going on, then this one is for you. There are watermelon hearts, strawberries, raspberries, blackberries and little clusters of blueberries.

The different heart sizes are so pretty together. You could use a smaller plate and still get the same piled-up look.

pink heart cupcakes

How sweet are these cupcakes? The pale pink frosting follows a heart outline, with tiny red, pink and white hearts scattered over the top.

I’d stick with the same small sprinkles rather than adding a large topper. That pink heart shape is cute all on its own.

dipped cereal treat pops

These cereal hearts take the plain version a little further. Some are half-dipped, some are fully covered and others have pink drizzle over a white coating.

You don’t have to make every heart match. Choose a couple of edible coatings and let the sprinkle patterns look a little different.

smiling snack robots

Those little smiling faces are just too cute! Orange and red snack cups sit above boxed treats, with colorful hearts on the fronts and small packets at the bottom.

This is a packaging idea rather than a recipe. If you make your own version, keep decorations outside sealed food packages and remove the wrapping and googly eyes before handing over the snacks.

fruit sushi-style bites

Want something a little different from fruit skewers? These sushi-style bites have bright pink wrappers around visible rice and fruit centers.

Banana rounds topped with pomegranate seeds sit beside them.

I’d borrow the little bite-sized presentation for a fruit plate. You can keep the banana pieces separate if you don’t want to make rolls.

heart-window tortilla

Here’s a savory idea among all those pink sweets. Heart cutouts in the top tortilla reveal shredded cheese and pepperoni underneath.

The photo shows it during preparation, not as a finished snack. Borrow the cutout detail for a tortilla pizza or quesadilla recipe you trust.

red jelly hearts

I love these glossy red jelly hearts with their scalloped edges. Each one has a single pastel candy heart in the middle.

For a simpler version, leave off the candy and let the shape do the decorating. They look so pretty against the plain white plates.

chocolate-striped fruit

This is another strawberry and watermelon pairing, but it has a little extra decoration. Dark chocolate-colored stripes run across the fruit and onto the plate.

Try a light chocolate drizzle over fruit hearts arranged without sticks. You’ll still get those pretty stripes across the red fruit.

pink and red treat board

If you want to go all out for a party, there’s plenty of inspiration here. Pink-frosted cookies, wafer rolls, pink wafers and colorful candies surround bowls of dips.

I especially love the red heart bowl in the middle. For a smaller spread, pick a few treats rather than trying to include everything shown.

heart-sprinkled muffins

Last but definitely not least, we have these golden-brown muffins with pink and red hearts. I love how simple the decoration is!

Try edible heart sprinkles on your favorite muffins for the same little Valentine touch. You can leave the rest of the top plain, just like these.
